Aaka paused on a rise, inhaling the fresh spring air deeply. The snow had finally melted, prey had returned to her land to graze, and pup season was in. Her tail whisked as she exhaled, and the Alphess continued onward. Her silvery grey fur lit up in the sun, making her appear almost white. Aaka was on her way to one of the lakes settled in her territory for a drink, and could now see the shallow body of water just a quarter mile away. She pressed on a little harder, her throat becoming dry.

After about five minutes, the female wolf reached the lake. She bent down to lap at the smooth surface, replenishing her thirst and ultimately making her feel better. She stood as her stomach rumbled. The alphess trotted up to a hill, throwing her head up. She let out a beautiful howl, her soft voice rising and falling in a melodious song of Hunt. Her voice faded with the wind, and she sat, waiting for her pack to gather.

Khaz loped across his territory, directing his paws to Aaka. He put on speed, excited- He hadn't ate in at least three days, and would be happy to dine on something. He slowed to a stop as the pretty Alphess came into view, wagging his tail and nipping softly at her chin. Though he was older, the Beta knew to show respect to his leader. After he was done sucking up to Aaka, Khaz sat next to her, looking around for any of his pack members.

Lumina

Opening her eyes Lumina raised her rust colored head and sniffed at the crisp morning air. Today seemed like it would be a perfect day weather wise. Getting to her feet she bowed foward low in a stretch before standing straight again with a yawn. The she wolf knew that her Alphess was probably already up monitering the land but soon she'd be back to wake up the rest of the pack. Sure enough her Alphess howled for a gathering, today there would be a hunt. The idea of a hunt excited the wolf and eager to see what she could help with this morning but before she did she made her way to the den and poked her head in to find her brother Rollo still deep asleep. Not wanting to keep her leader waiting Lumina was quick to nip her brother's leg awakening him from his slumber before trotting out and away towards where the howl came from.

Rollo

Deep asleep on his side Rollo's paws twitched slightly as he dreamt. A cool breeze was blowing his fur around carrying with it many different and deliscious scents of prey. Walking along he suddenly came to a large herd of elk with plenty of easy to kill calves, just what he loved, the less energy he had to put in the better in his opinion. Crouching down he stalked foward and around until he spotted a rather plump looking calf farther from it's mother than the others. Taking a moment to observe it he sprung foward and came upon the poor calf before it knew which way to turn as the herd bolted in fear, leaving the baby alone to Rollo's jaws. Killing it was easy enough and in no time he had laid down and started filling himself up on the calf. A pinch on his leg jolted the wolf awake and he looked over sleepily to find his sister had done her usual wake up call routine. There could only be one reason why she had woken him up this early: the Alphess had called for a gathering. With a huff Rollo rolled onto his stomach and got up with a large yawn. It was too early for him and if it had not been the leader calling he would of just gone back to sleep. But it was their leader so he made his way out of the den and ran after his sister's scent.

A howl entered the Deltess' ears. It was the Alphess', more or less. She got up, out of the stone and dry grass den, and followed some of her fellow wolf pack. A thick, musty scent drifted from her maw. Blood. She forgot to clean herself from last night. Her pack had made such a great kill. She wasn't paying attention to where she was going, and wandered into the lake. Only about an ankle deep. A buzzing nose zoomed bast her ear. She growled at it, then went back to shore. It came again, this time she sat down and licked her maw. Her teeth brimming in the dull sun.
Another buzzing sound came into her ear. Deeper. She turned to look, it was a wasp. It made her jump, and she landed on her back. Her tail flicked it, and then she got back to cleaning. One royal blue eye glanced at the leader, embaressed. The dried blood was harder to clean off. The zesty juicies left it, so it tasted dry.
